Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Interpreter to join our team. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages or use sign language. You will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication in various settings such as hospitals, social work agencies, and child protective services. Responsibilities: - Provide interpretation and translation services to facilitate effective communication between individuals who speak different languages or use sign language - Interpret conversations, meetings, interviews, and other interactions accurately and impartially - Translate written documents, including medical records, legal documents, and other relevant materials - Review documentation for accuracy and completeness - Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information - Assist with cultural mediation to bridge communication gaps and promote understanding - Collaborate with other professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and translation Qualifications: - Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required - Previous experience working as an interpreter or translator is preferred - Knowledge of child protective services, hospital procedures, or social work practices is a plus - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one other language - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals - Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism - Detail-oriented with strong documentation review skills Note: All positions at our company are paid positions, including internships.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.71 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
